Vacancies for Perth to Sydney 2009
Ride Across Australia – Perth to Sydney
17th August to 19th September 2009.
We now have vacancies on this magnificent ride across some really breathtaking scenery.
We have spots available for riders and for some additional Road Crew, especially for one or two extra people to assist with feeding the super hungry cyclists. Remember that our food people only do breakfast, morning tea and lunch, no evening meals so that they get to have some fun and really enjoy themselves on this great adventure.
Please feel free to pass this email on to anyone you think who likes to get out and about and who likes to have a good time and helping people, plus you may also be able to have this message made available through your churches or your group of friends.
Age doesn’t matter, people from their Teens to their Seventies are more than welcome.

Weekend Mountain Challenge, Lithgow, 14-15 March
Are you ready for a great weekend of cycling ?
We need to get numbers organised so that we have sufficient food, Road Crew and other things so that we can have a really good weekend of cycling.
Organise a group with all your regular cycling mates. You will have a great time.

This ride is now only 5 weeks away.
The cost for the weekend ride is $115.00 per person for early bird Registrations before 28th February, after that the cost will be $125.00.
Ride Saturday only will be $55.00, Ride Saturday only with dinner will be $75.00, Ride Sunday only will be $55.00.
These amounts include a small amount to go towards 3 Bible Society Mission Projects here in Australia.
Fundraising is not a requirement of this Weekend Ride, although you can fundraise if you wish to, please let us know.
This includes all meals from Breakfast Saturday through to lunch on Sunday.
You can if you wish, ride either Saturday or Sunday.
We have the use of Lithgow Uniting Church hall at 43 Bridge Street to stay overnight in on Friday evening and Kelso High School at Bathurst for Saturday evening.
All you need is a sleeping bag and airbed and a change of clothes for Saturday night.
Showers are available on Saturday at Bathurst.
There will be toilet and washroom facilities at lunchtime at Lithgow on the Sunday, but no showers.
We will have Road Crew to transport your luggage, all you have to do is get on your bike and enjoy the ride, how easy is that !
We will have Track Pumps and some spare rear and front wheels in case of emergency.
We will provide you with Morning Tea and Lunch on the road and dinner on Saturday evening.
We will provide you with Snack Bars and Fruit etc. for on your bike during the day.
We will have water available during the day for you.
You will need to have your own spare tubes, tyre levers, puncture kit and frame pump.
There will different distance options on Saturday from about 83k to 125k. The Sunday ride from Bathurst to Lithgow is 83k.
We will mostly be on sealed quiet traffic roads. (there is one short section with an uneven surface).
And remember that cycling on public roads can be a dangerous and hazardous activity.

Tour de Youth, Bunbury 19-23 April
The team will be starting their ride from Bunbury. Plan is to commence riding on the Sunday morning.
Riding an average of 70km per day, the team will stay overnight at various halls and churches, passing through Capel, Busselton, Cowaramup, Margaret River, Augusta and Nannup.
The ride will be on the Bussell Highway to Capel/Busselton and on the Vasse and Brockman Highways around Nannup. We will travel on the back roads around Margaret River and Augusta. We finish in Busselton on Thursday and return to Bunbury Friday morning.
Total cost: $125 ($25 registration and $100 on road costs).

Ladies Only Ride, W.A. Wheatbelt, 15th-17th May
Come away for a weekend of Cycling, Coffee, Cake, Chocolate and Chatting, with all the elements of Fun and Friendship thrown in.
You don’t need to be a fabulous bike rider. There will be plenty of stops as needed, with meals and snacks provided . There will be a few hills but you can take them at your own easy pace.
The Bike for Bibles Ladies Only Ride on the 15th to 17th May 2009 is an event you don’t want to miss.

This will be an experience you’ll never regret. You’ll be invited to ride at your own pace, walk up hills if required, knowing that at any time you can get into the support vehicle. All repairs and details will be taken care of, leaving you with plenty of time to enjoy the fun & fellowship.
The main priority will be placed on enjoying the company of other ladies and leaving the rush of day to day life behind.
When is it on? Friday 15th May to Sunday 17th May, 2009
Why the ride? Bike for Bibles events for 2009 will be raising money to support Bible Society literacy projects in Cambodia. All riders are required to fundraise prior to the event and we can offer several suggestions to help in this area.
Who can come? All ladies over 18 years. You must provide your own bike, preferably with gears. Helmet.
Cost: $25 deposit, then $80 for on road costs including all meals & accommodation. Travel to and from the start and finish of the event in the Bible Society bus is free of charge.

Around the Bay in 2 Days, Melbourne, 28-29th March.
Bike for Bibles Victoria is planning a 200km ride around the bay on the 28-29th of March 2009. It is leaving from Albert Park and riding around Port Philip Bay, stopping over in Dromana and finishing back at the start point
This has been a great ride in previous years and training rides have already begun.
Registration is $25, with on road costs of $50. There is a minimum fund raising of $300 which will go towards literacy training in Tanzania.
